Trim video files

Upload a video, choose the section you want to keep, and trim it in your browser.

How video trimming works

Choose the start and end points of the section you want to export.

When you trim only the end, compatible audio and video streams can often be copied without re-encoding. This avoids another generation of compression and usually completes faster.

When you remove footage from the beginning, the video and audio usually need to be re-encoded so the result can begin at the selected frame instead of being limited to a nearby keyframe. Re-encoding takes longer and may cause a small change in quality.

Your video is processed on your device and is not uploaded to a server.

Common reasons to trim a video

Remove dead air before the action, cut unwanted footage from the end of a recording, save one highlight from a longer video, or shorten a meeting recording to the section you need.
