How do I make a slowed and reverb version of a song?

How slow should I go?

Most slowed and reverb edits play at 80% to 90% of the original speed. Go lower for a heavier, more dreamlike feel. Go higher if the vocals start to sound muddy.

Does slowing the song change its pitch?

Yes. Like playing a record at a lower speed, the song becomes slower and deeper at the same time. That deeper sound is part of the slowed style.

Will the new file be longer?

Yes. At 85% speed, a 3-minute song becomes about 3 minutes and 32 seconds long. With reverb added, a few more seconds at the end let the reverb fade out.

No. The sound is processed in small pieces, which keeps memory use low even for long recordings. Longer files take more time, and a progress bar shows how far along it is.
