Question 1

How do I convert SBV to SRT?

Accepted Answer

Drag your SBV file onto the box above, or click Select file to choose it. Check the preview of the new SRT file. Click Convert and then Download to save it.

Question 2

What is an SBV file?

Accepted Answer

SBV, short for SubViewer, is one of the basic subtitle formats YouTube accepts. Each subtitle has a timing line, such as 0:00:01.000,0:00:04.000, followed by its text.

Question 3

Why convert SBV to SRT?

Accepted Answer

Most video players and editing apps can't open SBV files, but nearly all of them open SRT. YouTube accepts both formats, which means the SRT file works there too.

Question 4

Is anything lost?

Accepted Answer

No. An SBV file holds only timings and text, and both carry over to the SRT file unchanged.
