Question 1

How do I flip a video?

Accepted Answer

Drag your video onto the box above, or click Select file to choose it. Choose Horizontal or Vertical, and check the preview. Click Flip video and then Download.

Question 2

What is the difference between horizontal and vertical?

Accepted Answer

Horizontal swaps left and right, like a mirror. Vertical turns the picture upside down, as if it were reflected in water.

Question 3

Is flipping the same as rotating?

Accepted Answer

No. Rotating turns the picture around its center, and flipping mirrors it. A video rotated 180° is upside down, but its text still reads the right way. To turn a video instead, use Rotate video.

Question 4

Will the quality drop?

Accepted Answer

Every frame is re-encoded at a high bitrate, which keeps the video looking the same to most people. The sound is copied without any change.

Question 5

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

In our tests on a recent computer, flipping a minute of 1080p video took about 8 seconds. Older computers and phones take longer, and a progress bar shows how far along it is.

Question 6

Which videos can I use?

Accepted Answer

MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV files. The new video is saved in the same format as the one you add: an MP4 stays an MP4.
