The sample rate is the number of audio samples represented per second. For example, 44.1 kHz means 44,100 samples per second, while 48 kHz means 48,000 samples per second. The checker reads the value from the file's primary audio track and displays it in kHz.

Accepted Answer

There is no single sample rate that is correct for every situation. Compare the detected sample rate with the requirements of the app, editing project, device, or platform where you intend to use the file. This checker only reports the existing sample rate. It does not decide which rate you need or convert the file for you.
