Question 1

How do I convert an AAC file to MP4?

Accepted Answer

Drag your AAC file onto the box above, or click Select file to choose it. Choose a picture, a shape and a background, or keep the ones chosen for you. Click Convert and wait for the progress bar to finish. Click Download to save the MP4 video.

Question 2

Will my AAC file's cover art be used?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your AAC file has cover art, MakeAudio uses it automatically and shows it on the page as soon as you add the file. You can choose your own JPG, PNG or WebP picture instead. Without a picture, the video shows the title and artist from the file's tags on a black or white background. If the file has no title, its file name is used.

Question 3

Will the sound quality change?

Accepted Answer

No. Video apps expect AAC sound, and MakeAudio copies your AAC sound into the video exactly as it is, with no re-encoding. Surround sound is mixed down to stereo, and sound recorded above 48 kHz is brought down to 48 kHz. Instagram doesn't accept anything beyond that.

Question 4

How big will the video be?

Accepted Answer

The video is only a little bigger than your AAC file, because the sound is copied as it is. The picture doesn't move, and it adds only about 0.25 MB per minute of video.

Question 5

Why isn't my file accepted?

Accepted Answer

This page accepts AAC files, whose names end in .aac. Check the end of your file's name. For other audio, use the matching page: MP3 to MP4, WAV to MP4, M4A to MP4, FLAC to MP4 or OGG to MP4. Audio to video accepts all of these formats.

Question 6

Can I make a video from only part of the AAC file?

Accepted Answer

This page uses the whole file. To use one part, cut it first with Trim AAC file, and then convert the shorter file here.
