What is an AAC file?

AAC, or Advanced Audio Coding, is a lossy audio codec. A file ending in.aac typically contains a standalone AAC audio stream, whereas an M4A file is an MPEG-4 container that may contain AAC audio. This player accepts.aac files, and playback depends on whether your browser can decode the audio stream.

Is my AAC file uploaded?

No. Your file is played locally in your browser and is never sent to our server. The player creates a temporary browser reference to the file and removes that reference when you replace the file, remove it, or leave the page.

Why won’t my AAC file play?

Accepted Answer

Your browser may not support standalone AAC playback or the particular AAC encoding used by the file. Playback can also fail if the file is damaged or incorrectly named. If the browser cannot load or play the file, the player shows an error and stops playback. Try a different browser or convert the file to another audio format.

Can I change the playback speed or loop the audio?

Yes. After selecting a file, you can play or pause it, seek to a different position, turn looping on or off, and adjust the volume from 0% to 100%. The available playback speeds are 0.5×, 0.75×, 1×, 1.25×, 1.5×, and 2×.
